I've always been fascinated/frustrated by the fact there *are* non-promotable tasks. If these things are valuable, why aren't they valued - how can we get more recognition for the contribution they (and we) make, as well as redistributing them?

The eg of the Athena work - this is so unacceptable: if a man does the same task and it is valued but if a woman undertakes the same task and achieves the same it is not valued :-(
